Stainless Steel is manufactured using a higher percentage of Chromium, Iron ore, Nickel, Carbon, Nitrogen, Silicon, and Manganese elements giving it anti-corrosion and heat resistance properties. These qualities make Stainless Steel versatile and suitable for use in the food, engineering, pharmaceutical and architectural industries. It has high weldability and formability, is non-magnetic, durable, anti-corrosive and does not harden when heat treated.
Stainless Steel merchant bar consist of products such as Equal Angle. These products are made from 304 and 316 grade of steel. The angles have a vertical web and horizontal flanges which are either equal or unequal in length.
Stainless Steel equal angle are structural profiles manufactured using hot rolling mills using either hot-rolled or cold-rolled techniques. The equal angle is L shaped and both the sides are equal in width. The equal angle legs run parallel to each other at 90 degrees. The grades used to make stainless steel equal angles are 304 and 316. Both these grades offer great strength and anti-corrosive property along with good surface finish. The 304 grade of stainless steel equal angle contains 18% chromium and 8% nickel. It has good formability and welding capability. The 316 grade of Stainless Steel equal angle contains low carbon and molybdenum which allows it to resist chloride attack and makes it suitable for marine applications.
